- The national park is a four-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. After crossing the river, you’ll embark on a jungle walk to explore Nam Cat Tien’s diverse wildlife.
- Additionally, you can participate in an animal watch by jeep and take a boat ride on Crocodile Lake.
- You’ll stay at the Forest Floor Lodge, located within the park and overlooking the Dong Nai River.
Tour itinerary:
📍 Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cat Tien National Park
- You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 AM and begin a four-hour drive north to Nam Cat Tien National Park. Established in 1998, the park consists of two areas, Nam Cat Tien and Cat Loc, connected by the Dong Nai River and encompassing around 185,000 acres of evergreen rainforest teeming with diverse flora and fauna.
- Upon arriving at noon, you will be welcomed into the park by the Forest Floor Lodge staff and transported to the resort via electric car. After checking in, enjoy lunch at the lodge’s restaurant, which offers views of the river and jungle.
- At 2:00 PM, your guide will meet you at the reception for a walking tour to explore the jungle’s plant and animal life. You will then have free time to explore, bike, or relax. At 7:00 PM, you will take an electric car to the park’s central restaurant for dinner. Following dinner, a private jeep will take you on an hour-long animal watch before returning to the lodge for an overnight stay.
📍 Day 2: Cat Tien National Park – Ho Chi Minh City
- Wake up early to the sounds of the forest and enjoy breakfast before meeting your driver at 7:30 AM for a trip to Bau Sau, also known as Crocodile Lake. A 20-minute (10 km) jeep ride from the lodge will take you to the trekking point, where you’ll embark on a one-hour, 5 km trek.
- Bau Sau is a stunning lake surrounded by jungle and home to many crocodiles. You’ll board a boat and paddle around the lake for an hour, spotting birds, crocodiles, and wild lotus. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch. At 2:00 PM, begin your journey back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving at 6:00 PM.
